Read between the fashion and the sex.. January 9, 2009 Nature Photographer For those of us who never watched the series, it is hard to grasp the concept of the movie directly. The relationships between the 4 GREATEST of FRIENDS, Mr. Big and the rest.
The movie brings very real life issue that many of us face in living in a big populated fast paced metropolitan city. Where can you find true love? How many broken hearts? How many failed attempts, that makes the watcher skeptical, and they should wake up to reality.
All the cynics and critiques.. and one-siders have lots to say.. to much sex.. to much skin.. to much hyped up fashion. People don't live this way in reality. Blah.. blah.. blah..
I watch the movie so many times.. and I can tell you one thing. There are many things in this movie that we adults are missing from today's friendships and relationships. - A friend in need.. what friendship is all about.. when one stays in alone.. on new years eve.. and what a friend would do.. in snow and sleep.. to be there for a friend.. - A marriage isn't over just because of one misjudgement. For the good times and the bad.. till death do you part. - Believe in miracles.. - A marriage is between a man and a women. Not between anyone else. - Secrets are like poison pills. They will kill you or get someone hurt seriously. - Sex does play an important part in cementing a marriage. - And yes.. millionaires do marry plain simple Janes. I know a few. Not all millionaires are shallow. They too are human, and want to be loved and to love genuinely.
Call me a romantic of a guy. The sound track, the songs chosen, brings a great mood to the picture, that makes my eyes water - when heart-warming and when sad.
So, forget about all the sex, and skin and "unrealities", didn't we all have dreams, don't we all still have dreams. Live the dream and not confine yourself to what people tell you is reality. Enjoy the movie.

Mindless entertainment January 8, 2009 nodice (Manchester, Ga United States) This movie serves just one purpose: to appeal to women ultimate girly side. It is literally a Vogue movie-where the idea that ordinary women actually can have million dollar wardrobes, incredible apartments in a fabulous city all supported by a job that couldn't possibly support such a lifestyle. Carrie would have to be a more famous writer than the script is leading on. But onto the main story between Carrie and Mr. Big. The wedding. Is it me or did the whole thing just feel contrived? The whole plot was carried by the fact that Carrie just wouldn't talk to Big. That's it. Now even that doesn't sound believable. The resolution: she sees him-and everything is all right. Uh huh. Is it any surprise that control freak-Miranda and her wimpy boyfriend hit a big patch in the road? Does anyone believe that peace will last for long? I can't see what Steve sees in this pushy, bossy woman in the first place. Charlotte was tolerable because she didn't have anything to contribute to the film and Samantha NEEDS to settle down because she's two seconds away from everything on her body to start sagging permanently--and I definitely don't want to see that on the big screen. Frankly, this franchise needs to experiment with a new group of girls. It's time.
sex and the city movie January 7, 2009 Amy A. Williams i loved it, but then again, i would watch these women read the phone book for 2 hours! just a terrific continuation of one of my favorite shows.
Loved It! January 7, 2009 D. Dover (VA USA) I really loved watching the girls in a full length movie. The fashion was great and every one lived up to their full reputation...except I expected more uumph from Jennifer Hudson.
so happy it was good! January 3, 2009 Workout Girl (Simi Valley, CA) I was worried it wouldn't be good and boy was I worried for nothing! I have never laughed and cried so much from a movie before. I have watched this movie repeatedly and still have as much fun as the first time!
