Product Description Victorinox 56058 One Hand Trekker Classic SD
Amazon.com Product Description From the renowned company that created the Swiss Army Knife more than a century ago comes the Trekker, a complete one-handed multitool that's ideal for campers, hikers, and just about any other outdoor enthusiast. Bundled with a free Classic Swiss Army Knife, the Trekker measures just 4-3/8 inches long, with a stylish black housing that provides a nice contrast to the standard red Victorinox body. More significantly, the Trekker contains 12 stainless-steel tools appropriate for just about any occasion, including a one-handed serrated locking blade--one of only three Swiss Army multitools so equipped. The Trekker also includes such items as a bottle opener with a large locking screwdriver and wire stripper, a can opener with a small screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, a wood saw, a reamer, a toothpick, tweezers, and a key ring. The bonus Classic knife, meanwhile, contains six tools to put your life in order again. Measuring just 2-1/4 inches long--less than a pack of gum--and sheathed in the quintessential Swiss Army red casing, the Classic includes a knife blade, scissors, a nail file with a screwdriver tip, a removable plastic toothpick, and removable tweezers. The Classic makes a great portable toolbox and manicure kit, and is small enough to fit in just about any pocket. As with all Victorinox items, the Trekker and Classic are made to exacting standards, with dozens of individual parts and hundreds of steps going into their construction. Victorinox attends to every detail, from selecting the finest materials to performing the final inspection. In addition, each individual tool has been hardened in a different way to stand up to its designated use. Outfitted with a plastic housing, the Trekker carries a lifetime warranty. About Swiss Army Knives In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

Excellent Deal on two quality knives January 6, 2009 James Mayo Ballycastle (USA) Victorinox Swiss Army One Hand Trekker with Free Classic Knife
This was such an excellent deal to get two excellent quality knives such as this for the low price. I purchased ten for Christmas gifts, gave out eight and kept two for myself. Everyone who received this as a gift was very pleased as was myself, excellent deal, I highly recommend this to everyone who wants a reliable, handy, quality knife that is good for around the house, working, camping in the outdoors or just for an overall great utility knife. Also the free classic knife fits perfectly on my key chain and I carry it everywhere with me. Very handy and reliable, a highly recommend this set.
trekker January 6, 2009 Jonathan E. Jay good knife, but... I do not like the serrations that victorinox uses. would be a much better knife with a plain blade or 1/3 serrations at the back of the blade not the front.
Nice knife! January 6, 2009 Chuck Mann (Happy, TX USA) Very nice knife, excellent quality. I chose to give it 4 stars instead of 5 stars due to a feature it's lacking...the saw blade does not lock. Not a huge thing, but why do they have one of the screwdrivers lock into position and not the saw? I'd rather have a locking sharp edge than a locking screwdriver/can opener that I don't use nearly as much. The main blade DOES lock and is very nice, easy to open with one hand, just not the saw blade. The Phillips head screwdriver is a nice idea also, but due to its location probably couldn't be used in very tight spaces.
Fantastic Knife - Great Price! January 3, 2009 Adam R I have had many other knives before this, but none of as high quality and usefulness as this one. The Trekker combines the benefits of a large, single blade knife with the multi-functionality everyone knows, loves, and expects from Victorinox knives. It's a tad large for a "pocket" knife, but it's usefulness will soon make you forget it's size. Also, the free small classic knife was a great bonus for my girlfriend. This pack is a must have for any outdoorsman or anyone in need of a good, high-quality knife!
Great pocket knife December 30, 2008 Katie from Illinois 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It came right away and in great condition. My husband loves this knife. It is just the right size so that it fits nicely in his hand and has enough tools to be useful, yet it is small enough that he actually carries it around. Since I gave it to him a few weeks ago he has already used the knife a dozen times, the screwdrivers and the toothpick. He has found the one-handed locking blade to be very useful and easy to open.
